Introduction

GreenCoop is an international producer cooperative based in Slovakia, dedicated to large-scale greenhouse tomato and cucumber production. Our annual production is 10 thousand tonnes of tomatoes and 12 million cucumbers, and environmental awareness is at the core of our company philosophy. Find out more about us!

Producer grouping

Our co-operative groups producers whose philosophy is to grow tasty and healthy vegetables with the least possible environmental impact. In our 6 greenhouses and our packing and storage centre in Zlatná na Ostrove, a total of 500 staff ensure that our vegetables get from the farm to the shelves as quickly as possible. All our members meet the most demanding European requirements and undergo annual audits by recognised, certified quality control companies and various trading partners.

About us

Our own brand is the cheerful Happy Tomato (Veselá paradajka), which is well known by our customers. It is not by chance that we chose Rye Island (Žitný ostrov) region to be the centre of our activities. Not only is it the most fertile agricultural region in Slovakia, but it is also home to a number of geothermal springs that heat our greenhouses. We use collected rainwater for irrigation and apply biological plant protection instead of chemicals. Thanks to renewable resources, our cooperative emits 18,000 tonnes less carbon dioxide annually than other similar-sized traditional greenhouse producers.
